Try Hockey for Free
Try Hockey for Free is designed to provide kids ages 4 to 9 the opportunity to try hockey in a FUN, safe environment with trained coaching staff. No experience necessary!
St. Luke’s University Health Network and Slapshot Charities sponsor monthly opportunities for kids in our community to try hockey at no charge!

Ages:
Ages 4 to 9. If your player is just outside of this range, please reach out to coach Joely at jgriffith@royalshockey.com
Level:
No Experience Necessary! We will have plenty of staff available to help give your child a great first experience with hockey.

Our Try Hockey for Free Events are located at the Body Zone Sports and Wellness Complex. For directions please click on the link below:
Equipment:
Skates and Sticks are available to borrow!
Players will need-
- A helmet (can be a hockey or bike helmet)
- Any type of knee/elbow pads you have
- Gloves (can be thick, snow gloves)
- Snow Pants
- Winter Jacket
Frequently Asked Questions
How early should I arrive?
If this is your first Try Hockey for Free session, please arrive 30 minutes prior to the scheduled start time. This will allow enough time to register and get your participant geared up and ready to go!
